D. van Straten adapted Chmutov's series of surfaces in P³ with many nodes (cf. J. Alg. Geom, 1992, p. 191-196) to obtain a series of surfaces with dihedral symmetry D_d with many real nodes (instead of the folding polynomial he took the regular n-gon). The image below shows the septic with 81 real A₁ singularities.
